Evocative Offices

Mill Valley, California

1999

This 300 square meter interior design for a California software development company embodies an otherwise bland space with a sense of the theatrical, while conveying a dynamic image to clients and guests.  Reception and conference areas are separated from open office spaces by a bank of sculpturally-articulated forms, containing among other spaces a transparent server room reflecting the services provided by the company.

 

Concealed illumination of the rough, wood structure above provides non-glare illumination of computer screens, and accentuates a feeling of spaciousness while providing textural contrast to the sculptural spatial insertions below.
