This small hotel, located in an historic building at the center of San Francisco's financial district, was the first "art hotel" in the city.  In addition to the art gallery atmosphere of the reception and hallway areas, local artists were invited to decorate individual rooms with extensive wall painting, providing aesthetic and experiential richness for hotel guests and visitors.

Design work included the detailing of new private and shared guest room bathrooms and the reception area itself, including a custom granite reception desk and integrated back wall storage.
